Athena, Greek goddess of war, wisdom, and crafts, was the perfect model of strength and courage that I was attempting to channel during a difficult time. The rawest of my paintings to date, this piece was created by beginning with drips and loose brush marks, bringing out figures and shapes through a stream of consciousness method as they emerged in the mind's eye.
