Insomnia

There's something fascinating about the beauty and mystery of the eye. The eye is the "window to the soul" and brings to mind the depth of what it means to be human. Many of us struggle with insomnia, and I painted this piece in the middle of a sleepless night. The bold colors and biomorphic shapes are meant to capture the essence of what the mind experiences through one of these episodes.
