Day Before The Fall

Autumn is an inspiring time of the year with its gorgeous pallet of warm colors. I created this watercolor pencil drawing to capture a fleeting moment when the sunshine was out for one of the last days of fall, casting light in such a way that created stunning shadows and abstract shapes. The leaves are on their last leg, and none of them are perfect, but this scene was meant to make one ponder the beauty and complexity in the natural cycle of decay.
