The Hand

Some people say that the eyes are the windows to the soul. Some say it's the hands. I've always been fascinated with hands, and they can tell you quite a bit about a person. I created this oil painting by first drawing my own hands, separating the light from the shadows, then bringing out the characters that I saw within the shadows. The result was a surreal motif of spooky, yet somewhat playful little personalities, and so I thought it fitting to add a little cinematic drama in the background.
